Pattern Use Policy

1. Copyright:

All of our patterns are protected by copyright. When you purchase a pattern you are granted a limited use license to use the pattern for your own personal use. This means each person who plans to use the pattern should purchase one. We encourage the use of our patterns in non-profit, group settings such as schools and scouting groups. As such, we offer additional licenses at a discounted rate for such circumstances. You can find more info about that here.

2. Making items for resale:

Our intention at Stitchback DIY Trail Gear is to provide patterns for fellow makers who are interested in making outdoor gear for their own personal use. We feel it is a rewarding endeavor to make your own gear and use it in the wilderness.

We understand that some people may want to make items for resale. The copyright on our patterns extends only to the pattern and instructions contained in the PDF, and not to any item that you make from said instructions. Therefore, you may do whatever you please with the item you make. We hope you will respect the DIY spirit of the site, by not mass producing any of the items we have created patterns for. We take no issue with making a few items for resale to friends, etc., but remember that it is the sale of patterns that allow this site to exist and enables us to continue producing new patterns. We truly appreciate your support.

If you run a small business and are looking for a pattern that you would like to put into mass production, we may be able to help. We can work with you to design a product that would be exclusive to your brand through a licensing agreement. If interested, please contact us here.
